peekaboo

today was a beautiful day...especially that it fell on friday...the day when i get to see my auntie lisa. she always comes to visit with such bright energy and she comes every week, rain or shine. today she brought me two new dinosaur themed sets of pants and shirts. we laughed and played and spent some time in the courtyard playground. i played peekaboo with her (i initiated it) behind the chair posts i was standing at and got her to laugh by starting a chain of giggles and gurgles. auntie lisa couldn't help but join in.

after my afternoon nap, mama and i walked to california avenue...along the way we sniffed flowers, dissected and studied them, and blew a weed flower and it dispersed in all directions. we stopped at the country sun store to grab a snack of cheese, apple juice and vegetarian sushi rolls - we ate our snack (i ate an entire package of string cheese!) outside beneath the solar powered flower umbrellas, which i couldn't take my eyes off of. as we were sitting there, we were approached by a father named William who said he had a five year old boy and remarked that it just gets better and better as the years go on...both mama and i couldn't agree more, even though this is only our tenth month! after that, the most remarkable sight passed us - a blind man and his three legged seeing eye dog...i didn't really notice, but mama tried to point out to me what a resilient team that seemed to be. we then made a last stop at Peers Park, where we tried out the swings and the bouncy metal car - which was my favorite...i kept on bouncing up and down, enjoying the sensation. and of course, there were tons of young girls for me to gawk and goo at - it was the perfect setting.

we got home and read the nighttime peekaboo book that Gigi and Papa bought me...and i was turning the pages and lifting the peekaboo sections. mama could have sworn that i said "peekaboo" (sounded more like a slurred "peekboo") after several times of her repeating that as we flipped the sections. but i don't know, i think mama likes to read into too many things these days!
