wow, has it already been almost a month?

i can't believe how quickly time has been passing and how much i've being doing and learning! and i've been having so much fun. this past weekend, ev had its annual family carnival. i especially loved the petting zoo and the live music. i got to touch a little pig, quack at the ducks, and point at the chickens! i was torn between extreme curiosity and excitement and a bit of fear of the unknown...but i touched as many animals as i could! i even witnessed a goat go poop. and as for the music, i got up on my knees and starting swinging my arms and bouncing up and down. and when a cool jazz number came on, i snapped my fingers with mama and dada.

let's see...i've been walking assisted a lot and free standing every now and then. i can balance holding onto one of mama or dada's hands and can run when holding onto their hands. i climb up the slide at the playground and LOVE sliding down, over and over again...giving out a big squeal when i reach the bottom. the other day i said "chi-chi", and am now copying mama and dada's gestures and language (uh-oh!). i amaze my parents every day with a new trick or quirk. i am a very happy boy for the most part...i like singing, smiling, laughing, initiating peekaboo by covering my face, and running around naked. the other day my mama let me run around buck naked and i just speed crawled from one room to the next, squealing in delight and sitting down every now and then to check if everything was still there!

i go to two (sometimes more) playgroups a week, and currently my favorite hang out is the backyard playground. i meet new friends every day and play with one of my closer buddies, Emil, who's 11 months old. i am getting pickier about what i eat, but still have a good appetite...and i like to mostly feed myself, unless i am very, very hungry. all in all, i'd say the life of a 13 month old is pretty sweet!

Papa and Gigi love reading about your latest adventures and accomplishments. Mama is such a good writer and her descriptions help to soothe the ache we feel being far away and not getting to see you as often as we would like.
