birthday party no. 4 and other stuff

hey! it's been a while because i've been so busy having fun and most importantly growing into a toddler. let's see...i just had my fourth birthday party celebration this past sunday and it was a blast! i had 12 of my "closest" friends from playgroup - a very international group of kids representing Japan, Bulgaria, Canada, India, and Sweden! we had lots of fun playing outside on blankets and playing in the playground and eating sweets. i blew out my fourth candle and ate my fourth piece of cake. i waved good bye to each person and came alive during my party...socializing and being held by everyone.

some new language developments are that i say "uh-oh" when i drop a toy; i point to what i want and amazingly most of the time i do know what i want. i say "dat" for "that" to enhance my finger-pointing if it's something i really, really want. i dance to any kind of music and today started dancing to ranchero music being played by a woman named leslie we met at the park. i play the drums and xylophone but really like percussion...i bang anything really loud seemingly sometimes to a beat.

just had my 1 year doctor appointment...boy, do i hate visiting now...especially when they put me buck-naked on the cold, sterile scale...i scream bloody murder. the doctor said i was doing great! my head remains in the 95+% (my doctor says it's because i have lots of brains), my length in the 50%, and my weight in the 40%.

one thing is that i am still sick and it's been 2.5 weeks! that's the last time we go to the junior museum and zoo! ever since we went, i've been sick with something. being sick has affected my appetite and my temperament...i don't always cooperate...though i think this isn't just having to do with being sick [and neither do my parents]...it probably has something more to do with being a one year old! my personality is really emerging and i am really making myself heard and my wants known.

I've been looking forward to seeing the new batch of pictures with all of the birthday parties! Looks like you had a beautiful day for party no. 4. Levi is changing from day to day--he already looks older than when I last saw him. Great pictures and I love mama's narrative.
Hope he's feeling better.

Love, Gigi
