whew! it's been a whirlwind tour of life lately. since i last posted, i've been busy not only walking (no crawling for me! that's for babies!) and running around with my parents. we got back from our tour of san diego, long beach, los angeles and santa barbara. i spent six glorious days with my gigi, papa, cousin gracie, auntie amy and uncle jason in san diego...we had so much fun playing in the pool, outside in the warm weather, visiting the san diego zoo, and meeting new friends. then i got to spend some time with my tia erin and uncle charles and meet most of their family and friends at their engagement party. i went up to everyone and socialized. our last stop in santa barbara to see uncle brian and auntie morgan was great - i even took a bike ride on dad's back via the ergo carrier all the way down main street - i, of course, wore my helmet. i loved it!
this past week and half i've been getting back into the swing of things and am happy to sleep in my own bed and hang out with my friends. on saturday, i went to a sign language "playgroup" and had a blast! being the oldest baby, i was all over the place, going up to everyone, hugging them, taking their toys, rolling around on their blankets...i even went up to the instructor who was sitting cross-legged and put a toy in his lap and then searched for it! mama absorbed about 10% of the one hour class!
i've been speaking a lot - while i read books, to everybody i see, i say "hi" and wave, to my stuffed animals, and to anyone who is listening or not! i am obssessed with books...they are the first thing i do/read in the morning and the last thing i do at night. if i get upset in the car, mama just hands me a book and i am content until i drop it or want to move onto another book. with my walking has come a robust personality...i definitely make my presence known both in my squeals of joy and walking up to everyone around me and or engaging them with a "hi".
